{Apparao Dekka} (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.Tech. degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, India, in 2007, the M.Tech degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India, in 2010, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Ryerson University, Canada, in 2017.
He is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, at Lakehead University, Canada. Prior to joining Lakehead University, he was a Research Engineer with the Power Electronics Laboratory, at Khalifa University of Science and Technology, Abu Dhabi, UAE from 2010 to 2012, and a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow with the Laboratory for Electric Drive Applications and Research at Ryerson University, Canada, and Research Associate at McMaster University, Canada from 2017 to 2019. He has published more than 75 peer-reviewed technical papers, authored/coauthored a Wiley-IEEE press book on \emph{Modular Multilevel Converters: Analysis, Control, and Applications}, and seven book chapters. His current research interests include high-power converters, medium-voltage drives, renewable energy systems, electrified transportation, and advanced digital control methods.
Dr. Dekka was the recipient of the 2022 and 2015 IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics Outstanding Reviewer Award, and the 2019 IET Electric Power Applications Premium Award.
